This opportunity is not your typical internship—it is a hands-on, intensive experience designed for individuals with 3+ years of experience looking to immerse themselves in Security Operations Center (SOC) functions, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, configuration audits, red teaming, source code reviews, and much more.

Key Responsibilities

As a SOC Intern at Network Intelligence, your responsibilities will include:

Security Assessments

• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for:

  • Network environments

  • Web applications

  • Mobile applications

  • Thick-client applications

Infrastructure Hardening

• Conduct configuration reviews for:

  • Operating Systems (Linux/Windows)

  • Databases (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL)

  • Firewalls, routers, switches, and other critical infrastructure devices

Red Team & Offensive Testing

• Engage in red team assessments using:

  • Social engineering techniques

  • Physical security compromise scenarios

  • Internal privilege escalation and lateral movement simulations

  • Source Code Review

• Analyze application source code using:

  • Automated tools

  • Manual inspection techniques

• Identify flaws such as insecure functions, hardcoded credentials, improper validations, and logic vulnerabilities

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare detailed technical and executive summary reports aligned with NII reporting standards

• Ensure timely delivery of updates, documentation, and final deliverables to clients

• Address client queries professionally and promptly

Continuous Learning & Contribution

• Stay updated with the latest industry threats, exploits, zero-days, and mitigation techniques

• Share knowledge and contribute technical content by:

  • Writing blogs or whitepapers

  • Presenting at chapter meetings or security communities

  • Conducting internal or external trainings

Ideal Candidate Profile

• IT security, VAPT, or SOC-related roles

• Strong foundational knowledge of networking, operating systems, and application security

• Familiarity with industry-standard tools like:

  • Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus, Wireshark, and others

• Comfortable with scripting or automating tasks using Python, Bash, etc.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Analytical, curious, and proactive in solving security challenges

• Passionate about cybersecurity with a mindset to continuously learn and contribute
